The philosophical and spiritual landscape of our modern existence is one filled with phantasms, of empty idealisms lauded as the most solid and unquestionable sacred truths. But in the realm of nature, beyond that limited realm of our all-too-human world, one may encounter the more ancient truths. The deeper truths of the world and of ourselves. My coming to these natural spaces is simply the attempt to return to those ancient truths, and to explore those truths in photographs as well as my writing. To learn the ancient lessons of the old river, the esoteric teachings of the emerald forest, to learn from the animals. It is to leave behind the sacred shams of our techno-industrial world, and return to those final, indomitable truths of ourselves and the world.
